Motherhood brings out all sorts of challenges. Even if you have an amazing support group of friends and family, motherhood and maternity leave can feel lonely. When my son was born, I had a couple of friends who also recently had babies, but it was difficult to schedule regular meet ups. I was hesitant about Facebook meet up groups but I figured I had nothing to lose and decided to attend a short walk hosted by Alexandria of Mamas & Minis. That first meet up with her (it ended up just being the 2 of us that day!) was the start of an amazing friendship and my son and I have been out to several Mamas & Minis meet ups ever since; we even hosted a playdate at our local park. What I love about the Mamas & Minis group is that there is an event almost every day and the times and places change since it’s the Mamas themselves that host. This gives everyone a chance to find a meet up that works for their location, schedule and baby age group. The babies always have a blast! I also love that the meet ups are very casual and everyone is so open and friendly – there is no pressure and all the mamas are extremely supportive and understanding. As a new mom, there’s enough stress keeping a little human alive. Knowing there’s a fun and non-judgemental group of moms to hang out and chat with makes motherhood just a little bit easier.
